In spring 2019 Technical Department of the Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A. contacted us for a special request: they had to repair a huge leak on the DN900 “Sifone leccese” cement pipeline, located in the Lecce district.
The pipe was a very old and out-of-standard one and the socket worked also as an anchroring block: it was necessary a collar capable to encapsulate the lower (and bigger) part of the socket (more than 300 mm as footprint).
Due to the importance of this pipeline (it provides fresh water to a large part of the Lecce district) the installation of this Hydro Fast was performed with the help of Hydro-Cos.’s operators in front of the Acquedotto Pugliese’s Technical commission.
The installation was performed without shutting down the service. It was just slightly lowered the pressure inside of the pipelines to reduce as much as possible the soil washing out under the pipeline.
